Diabetics must resist their temptations when dining at Applebee's. Most of the items on Applebee's menu is either stuffed with sodium or sugar. You must be extra careful and pick low-sugar and low-sodium diet at Applebee's if you are diabetic.
Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for Diabetics:
If you are starting your meal with appetizers then make sure you skip the Classic Buffalo sauce, Honey BBQ sauce, and sweet Asian Chile sauce on your wings order. It is highly recommended to skip the appetizers if you are dining alone and instead build your appetizer keeping nutrition in check. Among the steaks, you must stay away from the Applebee's Riblets platter as well as Bourbon Street Steak at all costs. Shrimp 'N Parmesan Sirloin is also not recommended. Skip the sandwiches, wraps, and tacos as well. Desserts may be tempting but it is recommended to avoid them at Applebee's for their high sugar content. All the beverages except Iced Teas must be avoided as well to control your sugar intake.
Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. You can rely on a few salad options though. If lucky, you may find low-sodium ribs as well at the restaurant.
Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Blood Pressure
Avoid Green Goddess Wedge at Applebee's. Broccoli Cheese Soup and French Onion Soup contain over 1000mg sodium and hence must be skipped as well. Skip all the chicken dishes and seafood at Applebee's except Grilled Chicken Breast and Baked Haddock without sides respectively. You must also skip Brunch Burger, Quesadilla Burger, Triple Bacon Burger, and Whiskey Bacon Burger at Applebee's. High sodium intake can be lethal for a high blood pressure candidate. Avoid ordering foods that contain over 1000mg sodium at Applebee's, especially if you're dining alone.
Food Suggestions for High Blood Pressure at Applebee's
Well, steaks and ribs go hand in hand with cholesterol. Being their signature dish, it will be a challenge to find low-calorie, healthy food for those concerned with their cholesterol levels. However, you can always opt for their salads and other light foods to keep the cholesterol in check.
Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Cholesterol
If you have high cholesterol, then you must avoid eating sandwiches, wraps, and tacos at Applebee's. While the salads and soups sound healthy, you must skip the Fiesta Chopped Salad and Loaded Potato Soup at Applebee's. It is also advised to dodge the Three Cheese Chicken Penne and Chicken Fajita Rollup. Any main meal with over 100mg cholesterol is not idle for someone with high cholesterol. So, skip those items at Applebee's.
Food Suggestions to Maintain Cholesterol Level at Applebee's
This place was gutted and remodeled about a year ago. They did a great job renovating the corner. Servers should learn to remove dirty dishes from tables. I love pot stickers but not these. Everything else I've tried has been good. Close to home and 1/2 off appetizers after 10pm. Applebee's as a whole is not my choice of food but it's good in a pinch.

I have low standards for restaurants. Im easily impressed. So when a restaurant is so bad that I exit in ire and disgust, you best believe they have a problem. Now we go to this restaurant for one server, and he is probably the best server there and livens it up to the extent that the already well-known-to-us incompetence is now tolerable. And I was even able to mulligan his bad day, and still will, as people have them. The man is so good I'll allow him to drop his lowest grade. But it was a low grade. It took so long to get the mayonnaise for our burger it went cold. That burger, and our steak was poorly cooked. Both managers were horrendous. And sadly, so was the server. His attitude post complaint showed very dark colors, even leading to a profane salutation. Very rarely do I become so utterly disgusted that I plan to boycott a restaurant. But I will boycott this Applebees, and plausibly others, if this is the treatment that is acceptable to corporate....who believe me, I shall contact. Can you go lower than 1 star?

Durning a peek dinner service I understand things get backed up. However, wait times should be realistic. Our service was a three star the peach sangria is fantastic. The drink specials are very good. We had bourbon shrimp chicken and honey chicken mac and cheese. The food was a five star. Loved everything about it. Overall we had a very nice dinner with friends.

Had a great experience here, although I've never been a big fan of Applebee's food! The happy hour drink and 1/2 price appetizers were a hit! Waitress Lindsey gave excellent service!

Dirty is the only thing rememberd from this Applebees. Plates, cutlery, table. Food is so so, plates where warm but not hot. On the question of the waitres, how was everything? We replied with above comments, she appologized. 5 minutes later she asks same question.... We will skip this one and go to another Applesbees next time

Recent upgrade and renovations are very nice. Very friendly hostesses. We were seated at a very cozy high top table in the bar area. Lots of big flat screen TV' s in the bar area which were really nice but only sports on them which is boring for both of us non sports fans. Our server was Andrew and he did a great job. My boyfriend ordered a small portion from the weight watchers menu inadvertently and our waiter let him know which he appreciated. I had the chicken and steak fajitas and added guacamole for .99 and boyfriend had quesadilla burger and fries. Two sodas. 32.50 before tip. Everything was delicious. We will definitely go back again!

Applebee's, any location I have ever been, is pretty consistently bad. The restaurants always feel dirty, and this Applebee's is no exception. We had a gift card, otherwise we would have gone elsewhere. We arrived for dinner on a Thursday night around 7pm. The restaurant wasn't particularly busy, and we were seated right away. Our silverware on the table was dirty, and it took the server quite some time to greet us, much less take our drink orders. It took her about 10-12 minutes to return with our drinks, during which time my husband went to the bar to get me water because I was very thirsty and saw our server singing happy birthday to another table. We ordered the spinach dip appetizer. I ordered the boneless buffalo wings and my husband ordered the 9oz Shrimp and Parmesean Sirloin. The food was mediocre as expected (my husband makes a better steak at home), but the service was truly bad. Drinks were not refilled with any regularity. We will not be returning.

I love the new look they bought to Applebee's everyone's always friendly and the food is always hot and ready to eat. I've never had a problem with the food or the service. I go with my family all the time and we always leave there with smiles on our face.

Dirty, a little bit overpriced, you don't get what you paid for. Pretty much what you can always expect from Applebees. this after this one is a little bit more laid back than others though, and they're not normal at all. They treat you like you're just some friend that walked into the restaurant. I came for karaoke night, and wait all night, and they never did karaoke so I just left. They did some really weird quiz thing with a lady wearing a graduation cap and gown.

Went here w/ my bf last night around 11pm. I loved it and would totally go back! Our waiter was very friendly and got us lots of refills. My food was great and very filling. She forgot napkins and silverware until after our main course was in front of us, but thats okay, it was busy. My boyfriends experience, however, wasn't as pleasing.. there was karaoke going on and it was extremely loud. Mainly those who had been drinking. We got the 2 for 20$ deal. On its menu, there are no descriptions of the meals. Just photos and a name. So, while my meal looked exactly like the picture (three cheese penne with chicken), my boyfriends meal (bourbon street chicken and shrimp) didn't look anything like it! Plus, it came with a crapload of mushrooms and onions. He is allergic to mushrooms so he could not eat a bite of it :( we had to get food elsewhere afterwards.. Our appetizer was mozzarella sticks, and they were absolutely amazing. The oil they were fried in kept squirting out when we bit into it.. but maybe it wouldn't have if we let it cool down. The level of drunken fools wasn't too bad, and the service was really good. So overall I'd say my first applebee experience went really well. :) My advice? Go earlier than we did!

Training, training, training. A place with so much potential could use a small investment in staff training. From management down to waitstaff, just a week of FOH and BOH training would make this THE NEIGHBORHOOD Bar. Standards slip and Cape Coral just accepts it. Food comes out dry, diners sit with no silverware while their food gets cold and managers never show up. I have received 10 dollar "im sorry" cards from managers and am no longer interested in going back. It is not worth the frustration. What a shame.

went back today... the air conditioning was out even thought it was 92 degrees out at 6pm tonight. was a little warm. The waitress was Sarah and she was awesome. I ordered this blueberry grilled chicken salad and I asked if they could put in some cranberries and strawberries and she did. It was awesome. Also had very good strawberry balsamic vinegar dressing. Was better than the first time I went.

DO NOT GO TO THIS APPLEBEES! OMG I am so glad I didn't get sick from this place. I can't even believe I ate here! When we first walked in it smelled bad but we were so hungry we sat down hoping it was someone that ordered salmon. Everything tasted sub par. I got a steak that looked like it was maybe 3oz... My husbands shrimp were def microwaved... the oil in his scampi was pooling... uh it grosses me out thinking about it. When we left my daughter looked up at the vents and said eww mommy look... the whole thing was molded over.... uck... I don't even need to go any further... close this place down and update it. DON"T GO HERE PICK ANOTHER APPLEBEES!

Always good for a quick bite to eat. I caved and ordered the Sizzling Asian Shrimp and when I returned home looked up the nutritional info online. I was blown away that there were 3500 mgs of sodium in this dish (daily suggestion - 1500mg) 33 grams of fat and 850 calories. Okay I skipped the rice, but I'm still sick about the sodium. I'll stick to the under 500 calorie or Weight Watcher menu the next time. Don't go if you're looking for a quiet dining experience. Many large table of children, along with a birthday party that night. They are discontinuing their frequent diner card, but let us know that the next time we dined to show our server our card and we could get a free appetizer.

Worst AppleBee's I've ever been to ... the server was rude and acts like she can't wait to get off work. the food came slow. We were there to celebrate my cousins birthday and the rude server got really mad at her for accidently knock over her strawberry smoothie. that was totally a turn off for a birthday party. I will not go back there. Miller's Ale house and TGI Fridays are so much better than this.~

About Applebee's
Applebee is an American full-service restaurant brand popularly known for its signature Riblets. Applebee was conceptualized in 1980 by Bill and TJ Palmer in Atlanta, Georgia. At first, the restaurant was named T.J. Applebee's RX for Edibles and Elixirs. After the concept was acquired by W.R. Grace and Company, the restaurant was renamed as Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar. Later the company and the Applebee's concept changed hands with Abe Gustin and John Hamra who started the first Applebee's franchise restaurant in Kansas City.
Later in 2007, IHOP Corp. now known as DineEquity, Inc. acquired Applebee's and began their journey together to make Applebee's the world's largest full-service restaurant chain. Today, Applebee's serves at more than 1,830 locations worldwide. The Applebee's menu ranges from Appetizers and Salads to heavy meals consisting of ribs and steak. Although the trademark dish Riblets is a hot favorite among regular Applebee's dwellers, the restaurant also serves some amazing burgers, sandwiches, pasta, and salads.
